Phosphorus recycling TetraPhos®
About this Solution
Phosphorus is essential for life on earth. However, raw material deposits are limited and concentrated in a few countries. For this reason, phosphorus must be recovered from municipal sewage sludge by 2029. This is already economically possible today using REMONDIS' TetraPhos® process. The world's first large-scale phosphorus recycling plant was completed at the beginning of 2021 in a partnership with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
